Remo Crivelli

Remo Crivelli was born in Zurich. At the age of 9 he began to play the piano. Throughout the years he joined several rock, blues and jazz bands. But he was always dreaming of a light acoustic instrument that he could carry around and play wherever and whenever he wished.

No wonder he fell in love at first sound with the hammer dulcimer, which is in fact the original piano. Together with an experienced builder he developed a new chromatic instrument with pickups. Ever since then he has focused on realizing his dream: «The hammer dulcimer is my emotional surfboard which takes me through all my waves of fantasy.»

Remo Crivelli has a passion for acoustic music and ethnic instruments. As a multi-instrumentalist he plays piano and hammer dulcimer as well as alphorn, accordeon and percussion instruments. His playing and composing lies mostly in-beteween world music and jazz.
